I continue to learn a lot of lessons the hard way. How about you? This week focuses on 5 aspects of foolish behavior for leaders that our Clients and me are working on.
"Even a fool who remains silent is considered wise, and the one who holds his tongue is deemed discerning." (Proverbs 17:28 NIV)
I encourage you this week to NOT follow the example of a fool who talks to fast. GREAT leaders:
1. Ask opened-ended questions
2. Listen carefully
3. Repeat back part of what they heard to confirm their understanding
4. Ask open-ended questions
5. Wait to speak until they can add value
Many people stopped reading already, saying to themselves, "I already know this!"
Me too.
The question is, are you doing it consistently?
This week try a pilot of being slower to respond with answers and quicker to ask open-ended questions.
Do not follow the example of a fool, or the foolish behavior of a typically wise person.
Let me know if you need help.
Be a Systematic Leader - because inconsistency hurts
Thank you.
